Bayou Corne/Grand Bayou Response Activity

Wednesday, Aug. 6 work-

Sinkhole Activity Code 1+ – monitoring Tuesday showed increase in count of Very Long Period (VLP) events (Indicative of fluid/gas movement in subsurface) compared to previous several days, though still not rising to the level of Code 2 protocol (Code 2 restricts work directly on the sinkhole)

– Continuing sub-slab pressure monitoring at 107 Crawfish Stew, 1433 Sauce Piquante and 1418A Jambalaya

– Excavating and preparing footing for sub-slab ventilation systems at 1433 and 1465 Sauce Piquante


– Removing water on ORW 28 (north side of La. 70, west of Texas Brine facility)

– Continuing installation of ORW 41 (near center of northern containment berm)

– MIHPT testing work at CPT 47 (west of containment berm) and CPT 85 (south La. 70, west of Texas Brine facility) – Membrane Interface Probe/Hydraulic Profiling Tool is intended to provide direct detection of natural gas to more readily determine location of subsurface gas zones in and near aquifer

– Completing CPT-118W (southeast of Texas Brine facility, west of Grand Bayou)

Containment Berm/Roads/Sinkhole

– Hauling and placing clay on southern containment berm

– Placing clay on eastern containment berm

– Conducting weekly subsidence survey at TBC facility

– Conducting settlement plate and centerline survey for containment berms
