12:40 p.m. Assumption Parish Resident Welcomed to Science Group

Assumption Parish is pleased to announce that a Bayou Corne-area resident has volunteered for and been welcomed into the Science Work Group formed to give guidance to the parish and state response to the natural gas bubbling and sinkhole/slurry in the area of Bayou Corne and the Napoleonville Salt Dome.

The Science Work Group approved the inclusion of Norman Mabile of Pierre Part, based on his more than 30 years of industry experience in drilling and other operations in the Napoleonville Salt Dome.

Mabile attended his first Science Work Group meeting earlier this week, and members of the group said his combination of both his first-hand experience and knowledge of Napoleonville-Salt-Dome-specific operations and conditions and his familiarity with the local area and Bayou Corne community make him a great asset to the ongoing efforts.
