There have been no significant changes – clean up still continues and Texas Brine continues to prepare for the arrival of the rig (which should be on Thursday). We’ve received several calls regarding the diesel odor… DEQ is on site in their mobile lab, running air samples within the community periodically each day and results are consistently normal – no danger detected. We’ve noted that the smell is stronger in the morning and we believe this to be because of the dense morning air. Workers at the sinkhole site are required to wear respirators because they are there for long periods of time. OEP Director John Boudreaux is taking off any minute in the State Police helicopter so I should have pictures and maybe a short video pretty soon. The bubbles are still being monitored twice a day and no changes have been noted.
